Roof Refurbishment
Completed
NWIR was brought in to complete a complex roofing installation to a data centre in Leeds. The project required the removal of an asbestos cement roof covering whilst causing minimal disruption to the live site operating below. NWIR erected a temporary roof covering above the roof structure whilst the asbestos removal works was completed.
Due to a complex internal layout the works were completed utilising an integrated safety line within the temporary roof covering whilst other sections had netting installed. A lower level flat roof area was refurbished using a 25 year insulated felt roof build up.
The asbestos wall cladding was removed and installed with a new kingspan microrib panel with an integrated louvre system. The asbestos roof cladding was removed and installed with new kingspan trapezoidal roof sheeting.
NWIR also installed a new Bilco type hatch system and a Soter stainless steel line system to provide safe access and future maintenance at roof level. To the lower level flat roof, a new vapour barrier, pir insulation and mono layer elastomeric felt roofing system was installed. The entire roofing project was completed and provided with a 25 year warranty.
