One of our biggest industrial roof cladding projects in Manchester, involved our expert commercial roofers carrying out a complete roof refurbishment, at Mono Pumps Ltd, of Audenshaw.
The client
Mono Pumps Ltd, of Audenshaw in Manchester, had at the time, recently acquired the largest industrial deal of the year. The company had managed to gain a brand new office headquarters, totalling 442,000 sq ft.
The building itself, named Satellite 330, was located in Oldham, Manchester – and the former BAE Systems site was to serve as the company’s new manufacturing and distribution site.
The problem
The 442,000 sq ft, former BAE building had been subject to numerous refurbishments over the years, from twin-skin metal cladding walls, to new flooring being installed.
Despite these refurbishments, the property still had its original, now deteriorating, asbestos cement roof sheeting that incorporated Georgian wire glazing, which was also in very poor condition.
How we helped
The company’s acquisition partners, Jones Lang LaSalle in Manchester, then contacted our professional industrial roof cladding contractors, and instructed us to carry out a complete, brand new roof refurbishment program.
We answered, and set about delivering a new 33,000 sq metre, metal cladding, warm roof construction. All of the roof cladding work we provided was then fully supported by a guaranteed, long-term maintenance plan.
Why we used a metal cladding, warm roof construction
A warm roof construction was chosen due to the fact it was the most simple and efficient solution for our expert roofers to install. It would also offer much higher thermal performance, as any insulation is installed on top of the existing surface.
The warm roof construction method, combined with the metal roof cladding, ensures the entire roof structure is insulated, increasing its overall energy efficiency. As well as creating a more aesthetically appealing look to the property, the metal roof cladding is also very low maintenance, and requires little ongoing upkeep over the years. Plus it does not absorb any sort of moisture, and is highly resistant to fungi and algae.
We specialise in a wide range of industrial roof cladding and metal roof cladding services, which are suitable for all types of commercial and industrial buildings throughout the North West.
