Our client had 6 industrial units totalling 4000m2 which incorporated a large number of degraded polycarbonate rooflights. All of the units were experiencing issues with water ingress and the light transmission through the rooflights was minimal. The tenants also commented on the size of their heating bills.
NWIR Limited undertook a thermal scan to highlight the condition of the roof build-up. The scan highlighted that the majority of the roof area was wet and required removing with the exception of one unit which was suitable for overlaying. Core sampling confirmed the condition of the roofs and also highlighted that the thermal insulation properties were minimal. NWIR installed a new high performance felt system incorporating new PIR insulation, rooflights and a 25 year single point warranty.
